A New Year Brings Expectation!

Happy New Year

I’m late in getting my post for the New Year out! It turns out, 2019 is looking to be as busy and fast paced as 2018 was! Still… I have to get my thoughts out there before they vanish.

I’d like to start with a Scripture that really means a lot to me right about now. For any of you who might have gone through some junk this past year (or years), this is for you too! Because God is gracious enough to give us new mercies every morning, says Lamentations 3:23. Again, He loads us up daily with benefits, says Psalm 68:19.

Let’s get the New Year off to a vibrant and beautiful start, considering the words of Isaiah:

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen. This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.

Isaiah 43:18-21, KJV

We Are God’s Chosen People

These verses were such a praise-worthy piece to read today! It starts off by reminding us to stop thinking about the things in our past. Don’t consider old wounds, hurts, or anything that the enemy has used to try to defeat us with.

2018 is over, as is 2017, 2016, and so forth. They are gone, and anything IN them cannot be rectified from this point on. But’s God’s grace is sufficient! Always has been, always will be!

These verses go on to talk about God’s provision for the animals, even in places where provision doesn’t seem the least bit possible! Isn’t that amazing?! What makes it even more amazing is that He points out, WE are His chosen, He made US for HIMSELF!!

If those aren’t shouting words, I just don’t know what is! To be chosen is surely worthy praising and worshiping Him for, isn’t it? I can think of no better way to go into 2019 and the entirety of the New Year, than with a song in my heart, and a praise on my lips.

Won’t you join me?

He’s Not Done With Us!

Sometimes, past “stuff” can be packaged neatly, so that we’re not afraid to keep it near us at all times. However, we must move forward. Things in the past can keep us burdened so much so that nothing we do will loose up to be free to move on into our appointed future.

But I assure you, if you woke up this morning with breath in your lungs, you are NOT finished.

Just lay your hand on your chest. Go ahead… right now. Feel that heartbeat? That is nothing short of the promise of God that He still sees great purpose in you for His Kingdom!

You may not even be where you’re suppose to be right now. Or, you may be fighting battles still. You may even be lost, never having known that our God loves you SO MUCH, He gave Himself as the final blood sacrifice, giving us access to the Holy of Holies, in His Name!

Keep pressing on! Keep moving forward! Call out to Him, and He WILL answer! But you can’t give up. Don’t EVER give up. This New Year could be YOUR year!
