How do we have faith in God? Here are a few things to consider…
And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. (Exodus 3:14)
God didn’t said that He WOULD BE. He didn’t say I USE TO BE. He said, I AM THAT I AM. We need to believe that… by faith!
And He is a RIGHT NOW God! Not past or future, but right in the here and now. Wherever we are.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)
He is PRESENT, in our troubles, at the very moment they happen. Our refuge and our strength for all time. It’s important to have faith and remember that since He created all things, and therefore he is more than capable of BEING all that we need.
God of all Creation
Just think about it this way. If we have faith in Him and trust Him as the Creator, don’t you think He can CREATE an answer to any problem in which we find ourselves?
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. (Psalm 19:1-6)
The universe would not and could not declare His glory, were He not the Creator after all.
But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou has loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: (Hebrews 1:8-10)
Our God made it ALL. Even to the FOUNDATIONS of the very earth on which we are situated. In fact, here’s something to remember: if you can’t make it past the first four words of the Bible, there’s a chance you might have a hard time with the rest of it.
Simple Truth – there WAS a beginning, and there IS a God.
Those That Don’t Believe
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. (Psalm 14:1)
Am I calling those that don’t believe in God fools? Absolutely not! But God is!
The truth is, if we could sit down and thoroughly explain God, then how in the world could we trust Him for salvation and the finished work of the cross? If He were small enough to fit into the framework of our puny minds, then how in the world would He be big enough to heal, to forgive, to break chains, cast out demons, and set captives free?
