Today is day 4 of the gratitude challenge, and the word is today. There are a million ways to spin a single word, but I don’t want to be just a word spinner. No, I want my words to mean something, and that is my prayer with this post today.

Where Would I Be Today?

There literally isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t ask this question. Where would I be today were it not for Jesus? One day, I will share my lengthy testimony. I’ve shared it in bits and pieces through this blog over the years, but I feel led to put it all down in one place. At least the more significant points. Because it is a testimony to the grace and longsuffering of Jesus towards me!

My life has been riddled with chaos in a million different ways. My introduction into “Christianity” was to believe the tradition of men that “accepting” Jesus was my salvation. And, as it always does, that led to fall, after fall, after fall, after fall after… well, you get the picture.

It wasn’t until much, much later that I had a real and true encounter with Jesus, and He literally saved my life. From the depths of depression, alcoholism, suicidal thoughts, and attempts, He pulled me up and showed me Truth after Truth from the Word.

So, without Him… where would I be today?!

Grace and More Grace

When I think of the word “today,” I think about how, without Him, there wouldn’t BE one for me. Because I wouldn’t be here.

His grace sees us through so much! From the lies we believe to be true to the people who mean well but teach false doctrines and lead us further away from Him. He carries us through and, if we’ll let Him, He teaches us precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little, there a little, just like the Word says!

I’m so thankful for MY today! And I’m thankful for yours! Because if you’re here reading this, it means YOU got another day too! Sometimes, that can mean more than everything else.

Give Him Your Today

If you’re wondering what it’s like to live a life for Him, He’s waiting to bring you in. He loves you with everlasting love and would leave 99 who are already safe just to go out and find YOU!

When? Why today, of course!

I pray if you’re reading this and aren’t sure if He’s real, just begin to pray. Ask Him to reveal His Truth to you, and then find a New Testament-believing church or body of believers.

He can make your today the best day every day!

  1. Oh the truth and relief of knowing Jesus has always been beside us in the middle of our imperfections and chaos…and still is, for that matter! TODAY! What a profound WORD! Where would I be TODAY without Jesus? LOST….that’s where I would be. Maybe as you said, not even here anymore. BUT God! Thank the good Lord for TODAY! 🙌🏼💜🎉

    1. Yes, Ma’am! It’s one of those things I am ever mindful of because, OH my goodness… the things He has kept us from and kept from us. We may never even know it all. Whew! 🙂

    1. Thank you so much, Twyla! And I really REALLY mean thank you 🙂 I had not written on this blog since February 2022. It felt like a wasteland! Then I was scrolling through Insta and saw your post on this challenge. It stirred something up that I hadn’t felt in a while, and I’m just as thankful as I can be for you, dear sister! May God bless you richly today!
